Wow I have a lot of updating to do

Tuesday I spent the day in the aldeas de bordos installing water filters. Sorry- I have no pictures from this day- but it was amazinggg! One family in particular I will remember for a long time. So their house is about the size of a large room, and 4 of us were taking up a lot of space to install a water filter for them. None of us were fluent so it was great because we were all forced to speak spanish and communicate with the family. The house consisted of a grandmother, a grandfather, their granddaughter, and their pet boar! While we were waiting to calibrate the filter, I was telling the grandmother that I was in the process of learning spanish. And she was so excited to help! When I didn’t know a word, (such as pila), she would grab my hand and show me what the word was with items in her house. The family was the friendliest family, and as Kenny, JLai, and I were finishing up, the family asked if we wanted ice cold orange soda. It turned out that they had secretly bought the soda for us while we were working and that it cost them their daily wage. It was very humbling. We ended up taking a picture with the family (and their pet boar on a leash) and we all gave each other hugs and prayed. The last house we installed a filter in had a lot of children and puppies and there were a lot of smiles going around :D

Every house had a different experience. It’s an amazing feeling just sitting in the home of these Honduran families in the cardboard village and living their lives for a few hours. It was a beautiful thing.
