El Dia en el hospital

Today was amazing. It was spent in the hospital. The hospital is in bad condition in comparison to ones in America. There are bugs crawling out of the sinks in the rooms, no air conditioning except for a few wings such as the cancer wing, and supplies are very low. A lot of the children are in bad condition, too. Children are malnourished, and many (though I don’t know exactly what they have) are in a lot of pain. It’s really sad to see.

First, Sam and I passed out a hot milk drink to all of the children and then joined the others in the “escuela biblia” for VBS. We sang songs and made art :) Afterwards was my favorite part. We went in pairs around the floor simply talking, playing, and coloring with the children in their beds. This was mainly for the children who weren’t able to get out of bed. It was quite a blessing! Once the children warm up to you, it’s great to see how excited they are to talk with someone and simply color a picture. They are so sweet- each and every child- and I can’t wait to go back again.

IMG_0157 I only took one picture from VBS today because I was helping pass out milk for the majority of it. But this is Milo! He made that necklace today. :)

On the drive back it was POURINGGGG. It was fantastic. The streets were full of water. It helped cool the rest of the day down to a reasonable temperature so it’s something to be thankful for.

Oh! And I just found out that I’m going to be joining the boys tomorrow in helping install water filters in the village. I’m sleeping now- Tengo mucho sueno. Hasta Manana!
