We made it! We got safely to nuestro hostal, exchanged money in a nearby mall, bought water and breakfast foods in a place IDENTICAL to Costco, and even ordered Baleadas in Spanish for dinner. Honestly, it’s a little intimidating speaking in Spanish to people. Some people on our team are fluent and so for the rest of us, we get a little scared when Honduran people talk to us super fast and somehow we are supposed to understand and respond. But, we’ve only been here for not even half a day and so hopefully with time it shall become easier. I can definitely hear Spanish better than I can speak it!
Oh, and basically no one slept during our 11-hour layover in the airport so right now we are resting, which includes swimming in the pool! :D
Honduras is so lush and green and beautiful. There are so many mountains (which are advertised with Pepsi and Coca-Cola) and right now it finally is a little cooler and clouds are rolling in. We all will definitely have to get used to the humidity! Tomorrow we start what we came here for, and we are in charge of playing the music for church tomorrow morning.
That’s all for now! The rest shall be left for pictures…
Walking the wrong direction on the escalators for “exercise.”
HONDURAS!
And our fancy Hostal del Valle in San Pedro Sula!
The team! Somehow still awake after 2 days of no sleep or showers hahah.
Glad that you had a safe flight! Keep the pictures coming!
